Q: Dear Christina, how are you? What are you doing? Why are you in Berlin?
A: Hello. Sorry I haven't gotten back you to sooner, life has been a bit crazy. I'm doing great, weathering the cold and other things. Moving to a new place when you don't know anyone - or even if you do- is not easy. But I've been here almost 2 weeks in general and am starting to get the hang of things. I'm happy to have moved into my own room. I share a large apartment with 2 artists, a senior photographer and a student in sculpture, and also with a Spanish woman I can't really speak to because there is a language barrier. I have been writing songs full time in the days, apart from writing this letter to you and grocery shopping. I'll be starting German lessons this week I hope.
Why Berlin? Why not? The music scene is busy here and everything is totally different. I'm not afraid to learn about it and throw myself into Berlin to see what will happen. So far its working. I like a challenge and an adventure, and this is definately both of those things.
